ABOUT ME
Francis Ojok is the co-founder of Kuponya Peace & Justice Initiative envisioned to pioneer an innovative legal framework to interrupt the cycle of violence in Uganda by creating spaces for both traditional and modern justice systems to coexist and create holistic, sustainable justice in Uganda. Having been born during a civil war that displaced all of Northern Uganda, Francis’ lifelong experience of violence drives his passion for peace and justice.
Francis is a Ugandan trained lawyer, experienced researcher, and graduate from The Heller School of Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University with a Master’s Degree in Conflict Resolution and Coexistence. He also served as the Graduate Assistant for the Conflict Resolution and Coexistence program where he worked to encourage the wellbeing of the students and offered ongoing administrative support to program administrators. In this role, he also partnered closely with the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to work toward greater equity in various aspects of the program and school.
Currently, Francis is pursuing a Masters of Law at the Straus Institute of Dispute Resolution, Caruso School of Law, Pepperdine University. Francis’s professional goal is to become a global Lawyer, Mediator, Negotiator and Arbitrator.
